As much as I personally believe—and live by the idea—that age is just a number, things do change after 35:
- muscle mass naturally declines
- hormones function differently
- recovery becomes more complex
- the risk of osteoporosis and joint pain increases
But the good news is that you can influence all of these things.
And that’s exactly why strength training isn’t optional—it’s a priority.
Yes, every form of physical activity is valuable, and movement is fantastic for mental health.
But strength training is a MUST because:
- strong muscles help protect your bones and joints
- muscle mass supports metabolism and helps with body fat loss
- greater strength means more energy, better posture and less pain
- strength training contributes to more stable hormones and a higher quality of life
And no—it’s not “just” about appearance.
Although that’s certainly a nice bonus.
It’s about being able to:
✅ carry your own shopping bags
✅ climb stairs without getting out of breath
✅ play with your children or grandchildren without worrying about injury
✅ stay strong, capable and independent
Choose a training programme that suits you and helps you build strength while supporting your health.
And of course—a great reflection in the mirror doesn’t hurt either 😎.
